After Dinner Delight
Think of this dessert beverage as an herbal hot chocolate: something sweet, soothing, and satisfying all in one cup! Peppermint cools and calms digestion, while Licorice Root relaxes and supports the adrenals. And why not enjoy the comforts of a little chocolate at the same time? Feel free to experiment with this recipe according to your taste:
(2) parts fresh Peppermint leaves
(2) parts Cacao nibs or powder
(1) part Licorice Root herb
(1) cup water (per serving)
In a saucepan, bring water to a boil, add Licorice Root herb, then reduce heat and let simmer for 10 minutes. Strain out herb from liquid and pour into cup over fresh Peppermint and Cacao nibs/powder. Let steep for about 10 minutes, then strain out extra herb and enjoy.
You can drink this as is or add your milk of choice (hemp, rice, and coconut milks are lovely) and some honey if a sweeter flavor is desired (Licorice is naturally sweet, so be sure to taste it first!).
